The thriller of La Briciola: …L’Amour
I was asked to investigate on the success of three restaurants of Milan, known to the public as “IL GIALLO”, “LA BRICIOLA”, “L’AMOUR”.
Finding the culprit was not easy, as we live in a reality made of images, of its exasperated cult for success.
The success of “fashionable” shoes, “fashionable” cars, “fashionable” places to go … I asked myself if it was really possible that a plate of spaghetti, a carpaccio or a trevisana could be part of that series of status symbol like the cell phone and similar things.
The answer was easy and it was … I do not know, but I am really convinced that the success of these three restaurants can’t be only fashion.
Actually FASHION (and I mean true fashion, made by stylists, models, famous tailors and their teams) could take a part in this success, because these people are constantly attending these places.
Then I tried to follow another track, leading me to the show business.
So, I found more accomplices among actors, directors, producers, set designers, often found out to dine in these places, alone or in good company.
Even more confused, I tried to find more news and journalists; both writers and journalists could have been potential culprits as they were very often , and sometimes daily, to be seen in front of a carpaccio or a speck salad.
The more I tried to investigate, the more I found tracks.
I discovered that artists, business men, financial men, beautiful women, playboys, intellectuals, sportsmen and so on (all these elitist categories that can be blamed for ensuring such a big success) have gone and still go to Il Giallo, La briciola and L’Amour.
When I thought that I really couldn’t solve the case, then I had an idea.
I met, by chance, an extrovert person, friend of everybody and nobody, with a suspicious name: GIANNI!!! I realized at once that too many clues were to be found with him, a simple and original person, who is the owner of all the three restaurants! Then I asked which one the reason could be: simply a balanced private recognition of the qualities of a man who is able to be himself and can offer his personality to other people with sincerity and respect, and some light malice that GIANNI has been able to put in his dishes and in the names of his restaurants in Milan: IL GIALLO, LA BRICIOLA, L‘AMOUR.
