Lory del Santo and Eric Clapton: love at first sight

“We fell in love as soon as we saw each other”, says the Drive-in starlet. “We met on the 25th of October, when he came to Italy to play and we have been telephoning and writing each other since then.” “He’s come back secretly to Milan, I went to London to see him. He left his wife and wants me take care only of him.”

When they say “love at first sight”. She, Drive-in (popular TV program) starlet, he, one of the best guitar-players in the world. Between Lory Del Santo and Eric Clapton love has burst out. They met in Milan, last 25th October, after a concert the English rock star made with great success. Lory seems another person: the exuberant, self-conscious and easy going girl has become a little lamb asking to be cuddled. This time it’s a true love story and she talks about it herself.
“Everything happened so suddenly that I still can’t believe it”, Lory says, “and imagine that until now I had never believed in serious love stories.”
Tell us about that 25th October.
“I was at home, engaged in a photo session, when, at about 11 p.m., a friend of mine in the business, one of those who bring the big names of music to Italy, phoned me and said: “Lory, what are you doing? Why don’t you come and have dinner with some friends?”. I tell him that he’s nuts, that it is too late, that I am still working. But he insists: ”Come on, we’ll stay together for a couple of hours, then we’ll go to bed.” In the end I accepted and we arranged to meet in front of the restaurant.”
And that’s where you met Eric.
“Yes, I was sitting at his table, next to him, and during the whole evening he didn’t take his eyes off me.”
And then what happened?
“That night, nothing: we chatted and made jokes. The next day, at 8 a.m., the phone rang. It was Eric: “Listen, Lory, tonight I am playing in Turin, but I would like to have a drink with you before leaving, ok?” Of course, the drink was an excuse. Actually, he asked me to go to Turin with him […].”
